REALTIME GPS monitoring. In the SPEED or TRIP modes you will have access to live speed, distance, altitude and time of day, as well as average trip speed, best MAX speed and best 10 sec average. You may also use the Genie GT31 to simply save tracks - where you've been since it was turned on (TRACKS can also be "reversed" to track back to starting point)). Waypoints can be saved "live" to navigate back to at a later stage - or used to construct a ROUTE for navigating at a later date (a ROUTE can be made of up to 125 Waypoints).
NAVIGATION mode: In this mode, the Genie GT31 GPS will give access to: velocity made good (to next Waypoint), average speed, max speed, distance travelled, time of departure, distance to next Waypoint and time to next Waypoint. Plus, the user has access to a digital compass providing HEADING. The Genie GT31 GPS has over 180 MAP DATUMs (WGS84 is default). The Genie GT 31 GPS supports 5 main co-ordination methods : OSGB (ordnance survey), LMBT EST96 (Estonian), UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator), MGRS (Military Grid Reference) and User Grid
DATA LOGGING - after a session . The Genie GT31 can store of 20,000 data points. These points can be saved in the popular GPX format - which means the stored tracks can be viewed and analysed in Google Earth, GPSActionReplay (http://gpsactionreplay.free.fr/), GPSResults (ww.gps-speed.com). With these softwares the user has access to best 100m, 250m, 500m, 1km, 1mile etc .. useful data for speed training irrespective of mode of transport. |

The Genie GT-31 is a wonderfully compact, business card sized navigator, carefully designed to embody ergonomic principles. It will comfortably fit in the palm of your hand, mount on the handlebar of bike or motorcycle, and can even be worn on your arm. The stylish unit can be placed on the dashboard in your car, boat, bike, jetski .... horse... you get the idea.. anywhere.
We use the GT31 inside an AquaPac 212 watertight armband to provide highly accurate windsurf speed data records, eligible for download to most recognised GPS Speedsailing websites....
The Navi Genie GT-31 can run for up to 46 hours in power saving mode with the built-in lithium-ion polymer rechargeable battery. It can be recharged while connected to car cigarette lighter, mains power outlet, or your PC/Notebook.
You MAY - if you choose to - add a memory card to the Genie GT-31, however, in our view, this is NOT necessary. It has a 20,000 slot memory - so even at 1 second intervals that is 5.5 hours of actual SAILING data. If you set the min speed to 4 knots, it won't waste time filling memory with STATIONARY data... only when you are moving above 4 knots. SPEED GENIE is a special feature that gives the user INSTANT feedback about the last run, without fiddling with buttons.... KEY LOCK stops accidental key pressing etc etc...
